The audience thoroughly enjoyed the experience...a wonderful hour was spent being entertained by a variety of characters from Berlin's cabaret past including a mind boggling cross dressing cabaret/ rap. Yes, it really did happen!
Remote Goat 5 Star Review.
Baroness Maria is a revelation, not only does she match camp frivolity pound for pound with the draggiest of acts, she’s much smarter than your average cabaret act, she’s witty, she’s original and most of all real entertaining fun. I was rhapsodized by her renditions of the 1930’s Berlin classics, sung in your actual German; ... it’s taking cabaret to its spiritual home. Maria cleverly links the global financial crisis of the 30’s to our current cash woes...There are anecdotes and audience participation galore; all this, sparkly vintage outfits and a rogue victor/victoria moustache too!"
It was such a pleasure to experience the Baroness’ charms for the second time – it certainly wont be the last! The vibrancy and hilarity of her glittering show has me hooked; her sharp, dry wit guarantees aching cheeks from much laughter by the end of the encore (much called for by the heartily satisfied audience!). Not only are her song adaptations clever and satirical but sung beautifully with strength and clarity. The Baroness has a gift in bonding with her audience with a compassion subtly masked by a hysterical stereotypical Germanic efficiency – hervorragend dear Baroness! – Sarah Salmon

Maria went down a storm at our party and appealed to a very wide age range. We would have no hesitation in recommending her and would gladly use her again. She made everyone laugh and we even sang along (badly).

Maria gave a delightful performance which transported you back to the Berlin cabarets and Parisien nightclubs of the 1930s. She has a lovely voice and manner and perfectly judged amount of risque. She entertained the guests superbly during the interval of our charity World War Two Big Band Party and I would have no hesitation in booking her again if we repeat the event.
Owner, The Old Post Office Cafe-Bistro, Berkshire
Maria Hackemann has been a recent performer-in-residence at the Old Post Office performing her show From Head to Toe in Berlin and two further Festive Comedy Shows to sell-out audiences. We have been very happy with the success of the shows and have also attracted new audiences to the cafe. Maria is a highly entertaining perform as 'Baroness Maria von Hackemann' offering an inclusive and interactive show to a wide-ranging public. Members of the audiences have given some very positive feedback and we would be very happy to recommend 'The Baroness' to any other venue looking for a timeless and entertaining vintage cabaret to add a touch of sparkle to their evening's entertainment.
Joy and Joe Haynes, birthday party booking
Maria's scintillating performance at our joint 70th Birthday Party in January 2013 added a surprise sparkle that enchanted our guests and brought an exciting new dimension to our celebrations.
Patricia Steiner, Kristmas Kabaret Kix Audience
I went to see The Baroness von Hackemann Cabaret at the the Three Tuns in Henley on the 4th of Dec. 2013... the mix between comedy and vintage cabaret was delivered effortlessly. I was really impressed by her interpretation of old classics some with a modern / christmassy twist. Listing to her songs was just wonderful. Her voice carried really well from a smooth, silky, tantalising to a cheeky, frivolous timbre. She got the audience happily participating from the start and had them captivated, with their eyes firmly peeled
at her every move. I would definitely recommend seeing the Baroness when you get a chance...a truly talented and entertaining performance.
